Character History: Max started working with Ruthie over a year ago in her sensual enhancement business. She immediately knew that he was perfect for her sluagh daughter, LGG. So after a year of prodding, the Fates agreed with her and now Max and LGG are together. Marriage is imminent, but Ruthie cares primarily for the happiness of her daughter. As long as Max satisfies LGG, he can stick around. Ruthie however does heartily approve of the young knocker.

They discovered that they agreed about the basic theories of time travel. Hence they are attending this conference.

Max's Personal Theory (Working) On Time Travel:
S o I've been expanding on my theories.
E xamining the implications of quantum theory, it seems that all of spacetime is entangled on a quantum vibrational level. This appears to indicate that, should one be able to scan even a small part of a local reality (i.e., the contents of one's teacup), one ought to be able, with sufficient computational power, to extrapolate the quantum state of any portion of the universe at any given time (a tempest off the coast of Madagascar in 1398, for instance). [need to account for chaos, somehow. information vs. entropy and a closed universe?]
N ow that we've established that we can see our tempest in a teacup, we can apply the foundation of the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle (The more precisely the POSITION is determined, the less precisely the MOMENTUM is known). The HUP states that with any given particle, it is only possible to a) observe it directly; or b) know what it's doing. Once it has been directly observed, it has, in some way, been interacted with and its behaviour changed.
T hus, if we can determine the vibrational mode of the discrete area of space-time we wish to interact with, we should be able, with a sufficient influx of engery, to observe that particular there/then. Our very observation will effect some change in that locality, altering the vibrational and energetic state, and that alteration implies that we should be able to effect larger changes. With enough power and precise enough calculations, all of spacetime becomes here and now to us.
