Insiration/Quote for the Month

In The City - Carrie Newcomer

Chalk one up for the street
Mark one down for the city
One more grown baby boy is sleepin' on the sidewalk tonight
Wide round eyes, wide round lights
Can shine but without substance
In an instant you can hear an angel
Spread its wings and fly away

You're in the city
Where you can lay down your dreams
You can feel it, through the sidewalk
A heartbeat beneath your feet
Where they'll let you smell the water
Then tell you, "You can't drink
You're in the city now."

There's a cry, there's a roar
There's a howl that never ends
There's a silence that runs wide as it runs deep
And unspoken, broken people
Lying in the doorways
The light within them sputters and flickers
Like it almost had never been

You're in the city
Where you lay down your dreams
You can feel it, through the sidewalk
A heartbreak beneath your feet
Where they'll let you smell the water
Then tell you, "You can't drink
You're in the city now."

There's a light and it is you
There's a light and it is me
There's a hope that's round and hollow
As a paper moon on a string
We can be perfect, we can be stronger
Saints are sinners who just tried longer
I am certainly no saint
But I surely heard the call

In the city
Where you lay down your dreams
You can feel it, through the sidewalk
A heartbreak beneath your feet
Where they'll let you smell the water
Then tell you, "You can't drink
You're in the city now."

Game Summary

If you have a summary you wish to add here, please email it to deus.ex.margarita at gmail dot com.

Note that this summary has been written by Margaret L. and reflects her understanding of the game.

"The fae and other supernatural beings of Blooming Valley gathered outside the missing baroness, Clarissa De Voll's mortal seeming house in a wooden field where they would not be seen. Many new beings came to this gathering including three new childlings who had all crystalized the day before. There was a sluagh, troll, and sidhe childling. Baroness Baum and Mina led the party into the Library. When the group arrived in the library it was discovered that Steward Eleanor was missing. None of them could contact her or leave the Library. In fact they had been warned that the Library would open again only 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after sunset on this day. Feeling time passing them by, the group began their descent into the Library.

The group was forced to go through several puzzles that included combat before they could find De Voll's hidden treasures. First the group needed to play a game of chess. Then they had to properly set a fancy dinner table. The group next needed to play a game of Operation that turned deadly as they were attacked by some of the organs they were trying to remove.

Next the group needed to listen to a sad story about several princesses forced to dance. Once the enchantment was broken by the group, they faced a final challenge: A mannequin made to look like Baroness Clarissa De Voll. After battling this monstrosity, the mannequin was defeated and the group entered De Voll's Library.

In the Library individuals within the group took many treasures including books, artifacts, and objects laden with dross. The group also found beings frozen inside the Library. One of these was Lady Branwen who had vanished earlier. Another was a young sidhe noble who had moved to Blooming Valley but no one but Clarissa De Voll had met him. There was also an artistic young man who fauned over the clothing of the Garou, Spirit-Talker, and found everyone in the Library beautiful and interesting. Finally a young garou cub was trapped in the Library as well and Spirit-Talker helped the young one.

Everyone managed to take as many objects as they could carry and get out of the Library before the doors closed permanently. The Library itself is now lost."
