For years it was part of the County of Crossroads but as of February 19, 2006, it has become part of the County of Ardendale. Count Vladimir Aleksandervich Shaeryv Varichov is the Count of Ardendale. Both Highground and Ardendale are part of the Duchy of Ifflwyn in the Kingdom of Grass. The duchess is Verlayne Artemisia di Corridon ap Eiluned and the Queen is Mary Elizabeth ap Dougal. Baroness Eleanor Elise ap Fiona has been the baroness of Highground for years. In fact BEE (it's easier to type), is the only noble to rule Highground. In the mortal world Highground is Terre Haute, Indiana. Freeholds There are three freeholds in Highground: 1. Mary's - BEE's home and the ancestral home of her mortal seeming, Lenora Seil. It borders St. Mary of the Woods College (SMWC). The heartstone holder is BEE. The heartstone is in the upstairs living room fireplace. For more detailed information about the freehold, click here. 2. Grey Faire - This used to be the Honey Creek Mall but has been renamed to Haute Center. It is in Terre Haute, Indiana. The hearthstone holder is the boggan Walter (Walt) Simon (see Characters). The hearthstone itself is located in the fireplace in the Mall's office. This room also leads to the living quarter that are visible and usable by the fae only. 3. Sanctuary U - This is First Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Terre Haute. The hearthstone holder is Diana Silverstone (see Characters). The symbol for Unitarianism is the flaming chalice. Hence the hearthstone is on the altar and is the flaming chalice.
